TAKE ME TO THE NAKANO BRAODWAY

TAKE ME TO THE NAKANO BRAODWAY

On his days off, my dad says that he is going out to meet interesting foreign people, and he always leaves me behind. However, one Sunday he took me to Nakano Broadway. First we went to eat the biggest ice cream cone I had ever seen. While eating it, he was talking with the Chinese exchange student working there. She spoke Japanese so fluently that I thought she was Japanese. Then we went to a shop selling Asian goods. No wonder he didn’t ask Mum to come. These were exactly what she likes. If she had’ come, she would’ve spent all day there.
By the way he told me “People working for Nakano Broadway encourage their colleagues to be friendly to foreign people. That’s why this guide was written in 4 different languages. Japanese cartoons and anime are loved by people all around the world. For some people, it’s even considered as a part of their lives.”
My dad is stingy, but at the end of the day he took me to the place where they sell comics and games. I could spend all day there. Dad bought ‘ Doraemon’ for me ‘Crayon shinchan’ for my little brother, and ‘The Matsuda Yusaku Story’ for himself. Those characters are heroes that last for generations
